Bray Wanderers sign Kilian Cantwell and Luka Lovic ahead of First Division return

Bray Wanderers have signed experienced defender Kilian Cantwell and midfielder Luka Lovic ahead of the Seagulls’ first season in the First Division.

Both players sign having appeared in Bray Wanderers’ friendly meeting with Waterford earlier this month.

Kilkenny native Cantwell signs from recently relegated Limerick and, although just 24 years of age, has seen plenty of action around the League of Ireland.

He began his career with UCD’s under-19 side before moving back to the South-East to play for Waterford.

In 2014 the centre-back signed for Wexford, missing just one game that season, before moving on to Galway United where he spent two seasons.

The 2017 and 2018 seasons saw the defender experience successive relegations with Finn Harps and, last year, at Limerick.

Lovic joined UCD’s underage ranks in 2015 lining out for their Under-17 side and progressing through the ranks to play for The Students’ under-19 team.

The midfielder scored in the first leg of UCD’s UEFA Youth League tie against Molde at the Belfield Bowl in 2017 before the Dublin side were knocked out of the competition on penalties in the return leg in Norway.

The Seagulls begin their First Division campaign away to Cabinteely on Friday 22 February (kick-off 7.45).
