The Extratime.ie Sportscast Episode 132 - Pre-season training

On the first Extratime.ie Sportscast of 2019, host Declan Marron is joined by senior reporter Macdara Ferris and senior bellyacher Dave Donnelly.

They discuss some of the recent goings on in Irish football, beginning with Niall Quinn's proposals to overhaul academy football in Ireland.

Eamonn Sweeney’s scathing thrashing of Quinn’s motives and a more balanced piece from John O’Sullivan are discussed, while Dave says it doesn’t matter anyway because it’ll never happen.

Continuing the newspaper review feel of the show, the lads discuss new Ireland under-21 boss Stephen Kenny's wide-ranging interview with Paul Kimmage.

There’s mention too of Shelbourne coach Davy O’Connor’s piece on the site discussing his battle with depression and how it no longer holds him back from achieving his goals in the game.

And the new Netflix documentary Sunderland 'Til I Die comes under the microscope following Macdara’s review of the series on the site earlier in the week.
