Watch: Leanne Kiernan off the mark for West Ham with brilliant curler
Leanne Kiernan made her first goal for West Ham United a special one as the Republic of Ireland international scored a beautiful curling effort to put her side in front at Lewes.
The former Shelbourne striker contributed an assist on her debut in the Hammers’ opening-day defeat to Arsenal in the Women’s Super League Cup last weekend.

And she went one better as the Irons secured their first win of the season despite going behind to an early goal as Danielle Lane headed home Kate McIntyre’s cross to put Lewes in front.
Jane Ross equalised with her first goal of the game at the midway point in the first half before Kiernan burst the net for the first time in claret and blue.
Kiernan took a pass on the turn before jinking inside a defender and, from the edge of the area, curling the ball into the top corner off the bar.
