King's in for King's Lynn as Cameron leaves Shamrock Rovers

Winger Cameron King's short sojourn in Tallaght has come to an end as he returns to his native East Anglia to link up with King's Lynn Town.

The former Norwich City playmaker joined Shamrock Rovers at the tail end of the 2017 season but struggled to establish himself ahead of Brandon Miele and Trevor Clarke.

He made ten appearances in total for the Hoops, starting six and appearing as a substitute four times.

22-year-old King, who has been capped at under-21 level by Scotland, has now opted to return to England, where he links up with Norfolk-based King's Lynn.

The Linnets operate in the Southern League Premier Division, the seventh tier of football in England.

Bury St Edmunds native King was considered a teenage prodigy and made his debut for the Canaries as a 19-year-old in a League Cup meeting with Shrewsbury Town.

Chronic migraines interrupted his progress and he opted to move on to non-league side Thetford Town before signing for the Hoops on a short-term deal in August 2017.

King should be available for King's Lynn's away meeting with Frome Town this weekend, pending international clearance.
