Stephen Walsh Betting Column (Aug 4th 2017)

Last week, we had an unsuccessful week so after dusting ourselves down we are going again with the hope that this week we will land a successful bet for the Cork Disability Centre.

This week we start our treble with the First Division clash of Athlone Town and Wexford. Both teams are well away from the promotion spots but these games always see both teams score. So we aren’t too bothered in which team will win the clash as we can see both scoring so we will be backing them at 4/7.

Second up in the treble we will be backing Bohemians. The Phibsboro based side are in a good run of form lately having defeated both Shamrock Rovers and Cork City in the last two games away from home.

So with the return to Dalymount they will be expected to beat a Bray side suffering all kinds of emotions in the past few weeks. Bray will be missing Peter Cherrie with suspension which is a huge loss. Ryan Coulter a recent signing could make his debut but to be honest I don’t think that will make a lot of difference such is the form of the Bohemians attacking players in recent weeks.

Lastly we will be backing Dundalk to defeat Limerick. Limerick have lost a lot of players in recent weeks not bringing in a huge amount of quality to replace them so one can see Limerick getting stuck in a relegation battle and not a  European battle as Neil McDonald talked about on taking the job in Limerick. Dundalk can only hope to keep the pressure on City with a win but it looks a futile exercise such is the gap on the table at present.
